Original Wedding Ceremony Writing Services
Wedding ceremonies can be an open slate—a chance to showcase who you are as a couple. While that’s exciting, it can also be intimidating to even know where to start (especially in the thick of wedding planning!).
That’s where Hours and Minutes come in. Shannon believes that we live our lives far more in the hours and minutes—the small moments that make up each day and build overtime—rather than the big, easier-to-reach-for memories of months and years. After learning more about your everyday lives—your habits, humor, quirks, the little ways you show affection, support, and more—Shannon writes a lyrical prose piece that can be read during your ceremony.
A wedding is about showcasing who you are as a couple—what better way to do that than offering a glimpse into your every day? The little, blink-and-you-miss-them things that are undeniably, and beautifully, you?
Hours and Minutes Packages
Questionnaire + Original Hours and Minutes Piece
Couples will fill out a questionnaire designed to help them reflect on their every day lives—everything from small moments of joy, daily routines and habits, ways that rely on each other, funny quirks, and more. Shannon will use your answers to write an approximately five minute lyrical, narrative prose piece.
A round of feedback and edits via email can be added for $75.
Questionnaire + Zoom Conversation + 1 Round of Edits + Original Hours and Minutes Piece
After filling out the questionnaire described in Tier 1, Shannon will conduct a 60 minutes zoom conversation with the couple to discuss their answers. While a great piece of writing comes from the questionnaire alone, having a face-to-face conversation allows Shannon to pick up on even more details and get a greater sense of your personality and vibe.
This tier also includes one round of edits. Feedback for the edits can be provided to Shannon via email or zoom.
Full Ceremony Consultation Services
This tier is meant for couples looking for more comprehensive guidance on building out their ceremony. This includes two 60 minute zoom meetings. During the first meeting, we’ll discuss your shared values as a couple and identify the 3-5 most resonant. After that, and before the second zoom meeting, Shannon will compile options for readings, music, and other ways to frame and present each value. During the second zoom meeting, we’ll discuss the ideas for each value and flesh out how it will all come together in your ceremony.
This also includes an Hours and Minutes piece (including a questionnaire, zoom meeting, and one round of edits) at no extra cost.
Additional 60 minute zoom meetings can be for 100 dollars each.
