Wedding ceremonies are often an open slate—a chance to showcase who you are as a couple. While that’s exciting, it can be also be intimidating to know where to start (especially in the thick of wedding planning!).

That’s where Hours and Minutes come in. Shannon (that’s me, in the photo!) believes that we live far more in the hours and minutes—the small moments that make up each day and build overtime—rather than the big, easier-to-reach-for memories of months and years. After learning more about your every day lives—your habits, humor, quirks, the little ways you show affection, support, and more—Shannon writes a lyrical prose piece to be read during your ceremony.

There are two ways Shannon gets to know you—through a written questionnaire and a 60 minute zoom conversation. You’ll participate in one or both of these, depending on what tier of services you chose. From there, your wedding ceremony piece is born!

I know firsthand what it’s like to want a ceremony that feels unique and intentional. That’s what lead me to write an “hours and minutes “ piece for my own wedding (you can read the full piece on the Hours and Minutes Writing Samples page). It filled me up to put so many facets of our relationship into words, and sharing it with all of our wedding guests— and the intimacy that created—was even better. All night long, guests told me and my husband how meaningful our ceremony was. Thinking about it still brings a smile to my face.

That’s what inspired me to offer this service to others. Everyone deserves to share a portrait of their unique brand of love on their wedding day (though, an hours and minutes piece could make a great anniversary, birthday, or holiday gift too! For a partner, friend, or family member.). Let me do the creative leg work as you prepare for your big day.
